Who are your favorite actors?
Gary Oldman, Johnny Depp and Daniel Day Lewis are my top three favorites. I also like Sean Patrick Flanery, Christian Bale, Glenn Plummer, Liam Neeson, Jeff Goldblum, Gary Sinise and Kieran Culkin.
I believe Gary Oldman is the most versatile actor ever, and Daniel Day Lewis is the greatest film actor ever.

I don't think any actor in history has better performances than Daniel Day Lewis in My Left Foot, Gangs Of New York and There Will Be Blood.

Who's the better actor? Daniel Day Lewis or Gary Oldman? I'd say Daniel Day Lewis is better just based on the overall quality of roles he has played and how well he has played all of them. It's kind of hard to compare actors or actresses when one is very selective in the roles that they play and the other has a lot more under their belt which in turn lowers the quality of their work overall usually. Oldman has shown numerous times that he can act to the standards of Lewis, though, in my opinion.

You're right in that DDL has better quality roles than Oldman, but in terms of pure acting talent, Oldman has shown better versatility and has been consistently a better actor (DDL has some mediocre performances from past movies). People confuse better quality of works, with better actor (the two are entirely different).

I've realized that at a certain point, you can't really rank actors above other actors because they have different styles of acting and a lot of it has to do with choosing good films to attach yourself to. Daniel Day Lewis and Gary Oldman are at the top so I can't really compare the two as far as who is better.

I agree, but Oldman has all matched Daniel Day Lewis's best acting performances, shown more versatility, and has been consistently the better actor. Daniel Day Lewis just has better quality of work. These are the two best actors in the world right now though.
