Can we start this again? I just watched An American Crime (what a sad story!) and it made me think of when that was the Movie of the Week on the old site, and I think we should bring back this thread because it was nice hearing about movies and seeing what people thought. Plus it's getting to the time where all the good movies are coming out. I'll start with a review of "Bluebird" which I saw at the Film Festival.
Bluebird (2013)

I had never been to the Film Festival in Chicago before, but we decided to go see a movie there because "Bluebird" seemed really interesting. This was Edmand's first movie that he wrote and directed and he was actually at the movie to answer questions afterwards which was really cool. This movie is about a bus driver who mistakenly leaves a child on her bus overnight in the dead of winter in Maine. She finds him the next day and he is nearly dead. The movie follows the lives of the bus driver and her family, along with the irresponsible mother of the child who nearly died. The acting of the lead actress, Amy Morton, was phenomenal, and it's a long shot, but I could see her getting an Oscar nod this year. The entire cast gave great performances, actually. The cinematography was one of the best things for me because as you all know, I'm a visual guy and I love movies that can be paused at any second and look like an art piece, and this movie was beautiful throughout.
The thing that lowers my rating to an 8 instead of a 10 is that I don't feel like the average viewer would understand what Edmand did with this movie because they didn't have him answering their questions after the movie ended, like I did. After he explained his meaning behind certain things, the movie became even more beautiful, but I'm not sure if the viewer could put together what he put together for us afterwards, which is it's only downfall in my opinion.
I don't know if this will be in big theaters ever, but if you ever hear about it playing somewhere or you find it online somewhere, watch it!
