Challenge Corner Interview
Jessica McCain - The Real World: Portland
1. What made you want to audition for The Real World?
I really wanted to get out of my hometown and figure out who I was outside of what everyone wanted for me.
2. When you were told that you made the show, what was your first reaction?
I freaked!
3. How did you feel leaving home to go live in a house with complete strangers?
Naturally I was excited but I really didn't have any expectations, just embraced it!
4. When you first met your roommates, what was your first reaction to all of them?
When you walk in the house and meet these people, the cameras, the house it's all so surreal and naturally there is a family, we're all in this together feel.
5. One of the big things your roommates were critical of was that you had just gotten out of a relationship with someone and wouldn't let the guy you were seeing sleep with you. Why do you think they were critical of that?
You know that really puzzled me, I couldn't understand why they cared what I was doing with MY life. Maybe they were just bored!
6. Now a lot of people seem to have a problem with Nia whether it be in the house or on twitter but you two seem to be such good friends, why do you think people see Nia differently than you?
Not everyone is going to like everyone and frankly Nia doesn't have that need to be liked. She does what she pleases and is loyal to those select few she likes. Nia's always stood up for me and we always have been real with one another. We clicked from day one like Lebron and Wade....rest is history!
7. What was your favorite experience or memory from your time on The Real World?
My favorite memory was probably drunkenly making the kitchen a slip and slide at 3am!
8. Shortly after your season was over, you competed on The Challenge: Rivals 2. What were you thinking when you were asked and chosen to compete?
I was stoked, absolutely thrilled! One of the first reasons I wanted to be chosen once I realized what real world was all about was the challenge. I am super competitive!!
