I've actually never liked her that much but I appreciate her for what she did. Not to say I don't like her but I'm just meh about her. I think she kinda takes time to get going ad a character so I can kinda agree. Did you just finish the John Carroll boot episode btw? Well I've already seen this season haha but yeah I just finished John's boot.

1. Marquesas I really don't remember liking this season as much the first time I watched it, but it was so good the second time around. The cast is arguably the weakest out of the four so far, but still has a great cast, all the way down to the pre-merge boots as well. It had a lot of great game-changing moments like the first merge flip, Hunter's early elimination, the rock draw...and Kathy made this such a great season with support from Rob (who I actually wish had made it further this season) and Sean (despite the unnecessary god and race comments he made). Great season in all aspects.
2. Borneo While it may have been one of the least conventionally exciting seasons ever, it was still the first season, and with the cast as amazing as it was, it made up for the lack of strategy and actual playing of the game. I think what sets it apart from Australian Outback is that it's the OG season and Richard, Sue, Rudy and Kelly are the most amazing Final Four in the history of Survivor.
3. Africa It's weird because on my original watch of this season, I wasn't a huge fan and thought the first two seasons were for sure better, but after rewatching it, it's actually a really good season. Once again, casting did so good this time, possibly the best so far actually. There were so many good characters throughout both phases of the game, with Silas and Lindsey being fun to watch, and then the entire merge tribe was great, especially the final five. Also had the best merge game of any season so far, with Teresa and Lex keeping things interestng even if it was a straightforward vote.
4. Australian Outback This season had a great pre-merge, but the post-merge was very boring. While this season also benefitted from a very strong cast, I think Borneo's cast was stronger overall. It also seemed to actually digress rather than progress in the amount of game playing there was, taking out the advantage this cast had of knowing how the game works, while in Borneo they were literally thrown into unknown territory and had to figure it out for themselves.
1. Richard Hatch To have the winner of the very first season, where nobody knew anything about the game before playing, be such a witty and manipulative person is amazing. Hatch had a firm grip on the game, but of course he also had many flaws on top of this. However, compared to Tina, they both had the social game, but Richard had the strategy to overpower her game.
2. Tina Wesson Tina's social game is one of the best in Survivor history easily, however, beyond that, Tina really didn't do any strategic work to get to the end. Not to mention, Colby had much more control over how the game was going to go than Tina did. Tina played a solid game for the time she was playing, but not strong enough to be high up on the list.
3. Ethan Zohn He gets a lot of credit in the TEOS podcast, and by fans in general I feel but I'm not entirely sure why he got SO much credit. He's a strong winner for sure, but he lacked in social game, confirmed by many of the players. He did pick the right people to trust and align himself with though, and he had a good enough social game to get him to the end, and there were definitely strategic moves he made throughout the game.
4. Vecepia Towery I do think Vecepia is underrated. She played a very under-the-radar game, but that isn't a game to be ashamed of. She made a lot of subtle smart moves like sitting back and distancing herself when Sean and Rob became targets pre-merge, but still keeping a working relationship with Sean for later, and also making sure she knew everyone's story, interests, etc, which eventually helped her win the jury's votes. However, she just simply didn't play a strong enough game to beat Tina or Richard, however her and Ethan are close in my opinion.

Yeah I agree completely on this. Tbh major points against Vecepia for trying to vote out Neleh when she was the only person she could beat at ftc and if Neleh could actually own her game, Neleh actually wins. I know John wanted Neleh to own her game, but when she couldn't Vecepia just barely won. Definitely wanna Neleh, Sean, and John all return. It's a travesty only two have returned from this season.
I actually love Neleh's story through the season from 21 year old Mormon woman to the main driving force in the first ever postmerge flip who is super sweet but socially unaware. Thailand isn't really good, but there's Brian, Helen, Jan, Clay, Robb so looking forward to that.

I wish I would've finished this season. The final 6 is kinda meh, that's why I stopped I guess. Low key wish Tammy would've continued her immunity run and just f*cked sh*t up. Also wish Kathy would've won instead of Vecepia. But it still was a good season.

The ftc and finale in general is very good and so is final 5 imo.

Wait I'm so confused at all the love for this season lmao. It was so average to me. I literally can't remember a single thing about half the people or any of the gameplay or anything, and I watched it like a year ago. And Boston Rob was so unlikable. Seriously a pompous a** and a homophobic jerk, don't understand how anyone likes him.

I like Rob because he's so openly flawed to me and yeah he says some offensive things, but he's really funny to me. It has some duds, but at least like half the cast was memorable I think. I think the first game flip would make the gameplay memorable too

My rankings for the first 4 seasons are the same as Nate's. I almost have Africa edging out Borneo, but I decided that that just couldn't be a thing.

I am beyond grateful they changed how a final 4 tie works. Because poor Paschal didn't deserve to draw rocks there so close to the end. Especially when he wasn't even voted for.
It's definitely interesting how V quickly took Kathy's deal at that tribal as well. Worked for the two of them obviously.
I also couldn't stand how Sean kept trying to argue that him and V never had a deal...it was pretty obvious I they'd never vote for each other since the beginning.
Borneo Africa Outback Marquesas
That's my rank of the seasons at this point. Marquesas didn't really heat up until the end. And not too many big characters stand out. I can see why Boston Rob and Kathy were the only two ever invited back.

Lmaoooo I was such a Gina tard back in the day! Little New Maraamu is such a great little tribe and one of the best moments for me was the entire jungle relay challenge when they had to call the winner twice and Maraamu won after a comeback and they almost lost it hahaha. Such an intense challenge too.

5 episodes in and this has been a great season so far the Gabe boot was so fitting for the Episode title "end of innocence". Kathy, Sean, Rob are all amazing too.

Just finished this season and again, GREAT season. The episodes built up so well to the power flip and even then you still had a great premiere, finale, and final 5 episode with maybe one or two filler episodes. Maybe only one or two people I didn't care for from the cast, it's a shame only two people who have been brought back since. Cast ranking:
16- Patricia: I feel like I should have liked her more than I did, but she never really landed for me and was kind of irritating.
15- Robert: He was really underdeveloped and basically wallpaper for the Rotu 4 and general cast given how far he made it.
14- Hunter: I liked the role he played as the first leader alpha male who was blindsided so early on.
13- Zoe: She is so f*cking bizarre and strange and I can't believe she even exists. Her random turn on Tammy was the best "I never liked your presentation and your face"
12- Paschal: Might be pretty low, but he seemed pretty one dimensional and one note to me. He was really nice, but there wasn't any depth there. Also, I don't think he was flatout racist but yikes at some of the things he said regarding Sean and Vecepia.
11- Peter: A goofy, weird, socially awkward and inept first boot who liked informing people about the holes in their body <3
10- Sarah: She was an enigma, it's hilarious how disliked she was given how she wasn't particularly mean or rude or anything. The scene of her trying to go back to camp but immediately getting lost lolz
9- Gina: A likable, root worthy underdog who was stuck on such a trainwreck of a tribe that you wanted to see her prevail and as soon as she gets any traction in the game, she's booted just before the merge.
8- Tammy: Played the sidekick to John pretty well, good narrator, gave good soundbites, and loved her jury speech.
7- Gabe: I love how tragic and epic and just surreal his boot felt. Someone like Gabe could have easily won Borneo and the fact that he was so committed to not forming alliances and playing straetgic even to the point it led to the Rotu downfall is fantastic.
6- Vecepia: I loved the way she approached the game, so icy and cutthroat and was a really good narrator and gave us the gold line of Sarah paying a lot for her body. The move to axe Kathy at final 3 gives me chills still.
5- Neleh: If you counted everything from final 9 to finale, she'd be top 3 at least for me but she was really quiet in the premerge and just the "oh my heck" girl. I do appreciate that we got the first major power shift from the sweetheart 21 year old mormon girl. I'd love to see a Neleh return.
4- John: Great villain, great downfall, i think he speaks for himself with how epic his storyline is.
3- Rob: This really does solidify that Rob not in complete power is so much more dynamic and interesting. More than anything else his attitude was so refreshing with how he didn't take things too seriously, gave us some fun fights, and had that reward with Kathy that is one of my favorite scenes ever. I almost hate that he returned and then ruined his legacy with All Stars and RI as a character.
2- Sean
1- Kathy
I don't think I even need to explain the top 2. I'm probably gonna skip to Pearl Islands now.

Just finished this and I have to say it's my favorite season so far. The first thing that really comes to mind is the creation of real players in this game. Kathy is the person who immediately comes to mind, especially when it came to switching the vote at the merge and picking off the Rotu alliance. The next time it became clear was when it came to the Final 6 and she discussed with her son how her best bet would be to ally with Rob so that she isn't just a swing vote. After he was voted out and she won immunity, she opened discussion for the immunity talisman and in an iconic tribal council, Sean and Neleh openly discussed their Final 2 deals and how Kathy was basically screwed either way, but because Sean was so outspoken, she flipped on him. Vecepia is also a fairly good player in this game, she's intelligent, a good competitor and while she is really fickle, for example, the deal with Neleh to take her to the Final 2 instead of Kathy, she did make that move to win the game.
Another thing that comes to mind is the breaking of stereotypes in terms of boot order. With the past three seasons, the older woman who was weaker than the rest of the tribe members was the first to go, but in this case, Peter went first. Although Patricia, who would normally fill that role, was voted out next, it was interesting to see that change. The next time that happened was when Hunter, who would normally be a candidate for Final 4 based on his performance in competitions, was voted by Rob. This is understandable because he was arrogant and controlling, but usually a player like that wouldn't be a target pre-merge because they can still be useful to the tribe. This shift in the game made it very interesting and unique from the first three.
There were also some iconic FTC speeches, such as Tammy's in which she called Neleh and Vecepia out for being hypocrites and lying even they told other people to be honest. Kathy's question directed toward Neleh basically asked whether she made any moves on her own, which I thought was hilarious because she really didn't. The only move which she was involved in was the merge shift, which Kathy basically did the work for anyways. I don't think that Neleh is necessarily a floater, because between she and Paschal, she's the stronger player, but Vecepia definitely had a stronger game than her in the end. Vecepia, while not the best out of the four winners so far, is still better than Ethan, so I'm at least happy about that improvement.
The players in this game as a whole were better than ever before and it makes me very excited for All-Stars when I get to that point.
