I mean good for them and I'm glad, because this means more Challenges, but I don't care for this season. Also, I know people like to say how Nia is so fake, but she pretty much made Portland a GOOD season. Things were starting to get repetitive with everyone getting annoyed with Jordan. She pretty much pushed a lot of the conflict that season with Johnny, Avery, Jessica, Marlon, and Jordan. It was just a shame we had to depend on her and Jordan to carry the season for the most part. /rantover She wasnt that successful carryong the season since it was the worse rated season on 28 seasons. Obviously, but SD2 pretty much turned PLENTY of viewers away. I find it hard to believe that this season would be half as successful without the twist.

I agree with you Jhon except for the fact that Nia really was fake. Either she was acting for the cameras, or she's just one of the most immature people to ever walk this earth. However, San Diego was probably a huge reason why St. Thomas and Portland did so bad. Neither of those seasons were very good, but they weren't bad either. San Diego 2 put people off. EDIT: Didn't notice you basically said the same thing until now Jhon lol

I agree that this season wouldnt have been as sucessful without the twist, but ratings were increasing before the exes showed up. I dont think it would have passed the 1.3 mark without th exes. They need to add ssomething to attract new viewers, which they finally did after 28 seasons. I wouldn't blame San Diego for the horrible ratings of St.Thomas and Portland. Like V1man wrote a while back on vevmo, the first episode of every season is a reflection of the season before the one. After that blame the season that is currently airing because it wasnt good enough to maintain and Increase ratings. For example DC rating wise was bad, but New Orleans 2 started slow and then it went up every episode attracting new viewers. Then Vegas 2 was able to mantain and increase the rating even more. The same happened with Portland and this season. So if st.Thomas wasnt such an snooze fest then it would have been able to mantain the 1.3 ratings of Crap diego and increase ratings after the first episode...Which it didnt. Portland even with Nia and her fights failled at doing that too. Even though MTV did way more promotion for that season than Ex-plosion with retro MTV and etc.

I mean how does Jessica make the show and Nia has to send 5 audition tapes and is cast as a replacement? There is something truly wrong there. The episodes actually had a nice little increase each week and then halted as soon as the focus went on castmembers that weren't interesting. They couldn't salvage the ratings after that.

I doubt someone like Jordan would be friends with her if she was the same person she acted like on RW, lol.

To be honest I feel like Jordan , Johnny and Averey were good casting choices...But only if the last 2 didn't got in a relationship, I feel like both of them would have been more genuine and Fun. I can see why Nia didn't make the show, have you seen one of her casting tapes on youtube? You can tell she is an attetion wh*re and was trying t hard to be this character that she created. Plus I wouldn't cast someone that sent 5 audition tapes and act different in each of them for a show call "THE REAL WORLD"... But then Again I don't know how Marlon/Joi/Jess and to some extend Bird were on the cast. They were so boring.
