I would be fine with RW ending if it didn't also mean the challenges were ending in the near future.

This season is kicking butt in ratings. I knew it'd be a hit!

The first episode did bad because of Portland. Every episode have been going up, Episode 6:

Wow, this is really surprising. You would expect a drop in ratings because of the two week break. The Real World may continue going after all.

I hope this doesn't mean that they make it stupid every season now though. If they made a big twist for the next season and it did even better, I think they could pull off going back to the usual format if they had a good enough cast.

Regular real world season lately have been pretty much the worst... Portland was ok once they put Nia in there to be crazy. Saint Thomas was horrible, San Diego 2 was like the worst.

St. Thomas wasn't bad. Portland was good without Nia. You don't need fist fights and psycho a**holes to make a good season. The Real World is about the real world, or at least it used to be. People like Nia and twists like this season's are not the real world. I get that people like seeing fist fights and half-scripted drama, but I like the old format, even when it's "boring" to some people's standards.

Jonathan Murray the creator of The Real world/Challenges have stated on interviews that for now every season is going to have a twist and that the Exes wasnt the only twist they though about doing. They had other 10 on their minds. By the way expect a lot of the explosion cast members on the next challenge just looking at the ratings. Assuming Challenge season 25 get the challenge renew for another season. Like BMP wanted for battle of the Exes with the vegas 2 cast. They wanted to have 6 of the 8 cast members, but MTV didnt wanted to be associated with Adam so they dropped him and Nany.

St.thomas was a snooze fest in my opinion and thats was went ratings went even more down than Crap Diego 2.

I just am not a fan of scripted drama and 80% of the Ex-Plosion drama seems either scripted or very much due to involvement from production. It's like Jersey Shore...I still enjoy watching it, but not in the way I enjoyed Real World. It's now at the level of Jersey Shore, Bad Girls Club, etc. for me.

I'm going on a stretch by saying this...but look at survivor. They've brought in several twists through out its history and it's just refreshing to a long time viewer. I'd be fine with how it started but I always like being caught off guard with a new element. You have to be innovative to stay in business and that's what RW is doing

The Real World isn't the same kind of show as Survivor or Big Brother. It's very different. I get what they're doing and I'm glad they're getting ratings, but I am not a fan of how they're making it a soap opera instead of just casting people who aren't aspiring actors and models and who actually could make a good show if put in a house with the right six people.

Well I agree. When I went to a casting, I didn't stand a chance because they were looking for a certain appearance/person. They already have in mind on how they want a season to be like instead of just casting people who stand out and make an impression

Those numbers are really impressive. Now people are gonna be hooked for The Challenge to be renewed. But I wish it wasn't Battle of the Exes 2, I think they wasted a lot of couples on the previous one.

I mean good for them and I'm glad, because this means more Challenges, but I don't care for this season.
Also, I know people like to say how Nia is so fake, but she pretty much made Portland a GOOD season. Things were starting to get repetitive with everyone getting annoyed with Jordan. She pretty much pushed a lot of the conflict that season with Johnny, Avery, Jessica, Marlon, and Jordan. It was just a shame we had to depend on her and Jordan to carry the season for the most part. /rantover
