Challenge Corner Interview with Dusty
Trishelle Cannatella - The Real World:Las Vegas
Trishelle Cannatella - The Real World:Las Vegas
1.What made you want to audition for The Real World?
Trishelle-I was in my last semester of college at USM and had lots of student loans. I heard an ad on the radio to audition for an adventure show where you could win $50k. I tried out and made it but the show was cancelled. The same people who did casting for Real World cast that show so they asked if I would do Real World and the rest is history.
2.After learning you made the cast, what was you reaction to making it?
Trishelle-I was shocked. I actually thought I was too normal or sorority for them to put me on. I cried before I left and almost didn't go. Vegas is a scary place for a young southern girl!
3.Now you're first challenge was the Gauntlet, where you had the bike accident. How did that happen and did that change your game any?
Trishelle-Wow. Yeah that was bad. I still have scars on my shoulder, hand, and knee. Miz, Nathan and I went for a ride in the mountains for fun. These aren't hills. There are massive, dangerous mountains in Telluride. I made a mistake and pressed my front brake and flipped over my handle bars on my face/head. Miz literally carried me down the mountain while Nathan went for help. It affected me for sure. I had to sit out a challenge and it was hard to perform 100% after because I was in major pain. I'm just glad I wore a helmet. I probably wouldn't be answering this question.
4.How did it feel to beat Steve in a puzzle Gauntlet?
Trishelle-Oh Steve. He bragged the entire time about how he was a puzzle genius. He went to the Gauntlet in a robe and headband ala Rocky and drew "puzzles are fun" all over his arms. My team just looked at me like "you're screwed" lol. But I was fast in and out of the water and for some reason I just immediately saw the pattern and I won. It was so fast he didn't know what hit him. Sometimes keeping your mouth shut can save you from some embarrassment when you over promise and under deliver.
5.You're second challenge appearance was on the Inferno. How did it feel to go back into another challenge?
Trishelle-Well. I tried my best to get out of it but I already agreed and I had to. At that point Miz and I were broken up and I was at a low point personally so it was not the best for me to be there. I was happy I went home so early.
6.Now after a couple years, you filmed the Real World Las Vegas again. How did it feel to know you'd be going back into the same house and same people as before?
Trishelle-It felt great! I was happy to catch up with the girls, who are all amazing people and I'm proud of their life accomplishments. Steven and Frank lived minutes from me so I saw those fools all the time haha. It was a nice excuse for 7 friends to party in Vegas for a few weeks. I also had a boyfriend at the time so I knew nothing romantic would happen so that made it easier.
7.Have you been asked to do other challenges? If so which ones?
Trishelle-I remember being asked to do one but I can't remember which and I would have done it but I was filming something else. I want to do more though! Especially if they have more vets
8.Can you give us your opinion on the following people:
8a.Coral
Trishelle-We used to not get along but I think both realized it was petty. She's super witty and quick. I like that. I do think she's different on camera and more abrasive.
[b[8b.Mike "The Miz"
Trishelle-He's just a good guy. The book The Secret was probably about him lol. He envisioned being a famous wrestler and he did it! I have a lot of respect for that.
8c.CT
Trishelle-oh I love him! Hung with him on Inferno. He is hilarious without trying to be and I think a great reality tv character. And he's hot clearly.
.Camila
Trishelle-Everyone hates her but I find her very interesting. Accent is a little much but this girl is seriously good at everything she does. Great competitor.
8e.Devyn
Trishelle-I formed a friendship with her! She's so hilarious and outrageous but not to the point that she's obnoxious. Her weave collection and wardrobe amazes me.
8f.Alton
Trishelle-yikes. I guess you'll have to wait to watch Battle of the Seasons for that. I'd rather not comment.
8g.Frank (Your season)
Trishelle-This guy. Quirky, sexy, smart, goonish. I love him. We have always been close friends. He's like a brother to me and I'm happy I got to share the Real World experience with him because we always have that bond.
8h.Irulan
Trishelle-Gorgeous, super introspective and intelligent, and she's a mom now! Which I know she's amazing at. I miss her.
8i.Nany
Trishelle-I adore Nany! She and I got really close on the challenge. She has grown and matured a lot since her show. She went through some tough times but I think she came out on top overall. She's a beautiful person.
8j.Katie
Trishelle-oh you mean my best friend?! Lol. Yeah we lived together for years in LA and are still very close even though we are in separate states. I visit her though. I think it would be insane if we were on a challenge together. Everyone would be annoyed haha.
8k.Jonna
Trishelle-I had my first brush with her during this challenge and I wasn't super impressed. In a way I feel sorry for her but I saw things that made me think she is not a trustworthy person. I am not a fan of that. Red flags everywhere with her.
9.Now you're on Battle of the Seasons, what made you want to do this challenge?
Trishelle-I really missed competing. I play poker and I thrive on excitement and competition so that was the main drive. I also love the mental part of the game.
10.Did you know that half your team would be from the other Real World: Las Vegas? How did it feel to work with them?
Trishelle-Haha. BMP did a great job keeping things quiet so I was still unsure who my team would be. Nany and Dustin are great competitors and clearly Alton. Our team was pretty stacked.
11.Did you watch the other Las Vegas season? If yes, what did you think of it?
Trishelle-Yes I did! Nany was my favorite one. I felt many similarities in us. I thought it for sure rivaled our season ad I was happy about that. I want all the seasons to do well! We are family now. Love or hate. Haha.
12.What do you think is different from your team that separates yours from the others?
Trishelle-The obvious difference is that our team was split up of two casts. That was good because we did not have past drama to overcome. It was also bad because we had to bond while we were in Turkey and everyone else already had that tight knit group.
13.Would you rather have had people from your original season, or keep Dustin and Nany?
Trishelle-I would keep Dustin and Nany and throw out an Alton and trade him for a Frank! If Frank was there the house dynamic would have been totally different.
14.What is the difference between this cast and the cast of The Gauntlet and the Inferno?
Trishelle-The maturity level is the main difference. There were a lot of silly shenanigans and uncalled for rude things going down. The cast back in the day would have risked going home to beat someone's a** with all of the things that happened. I think with a lot of new people they just don't know how to act and think they have to be outrageous so they are asked on another challenge. On my past 2 challenges it was fun to hang with everyone and we liked each other for the most part. I think this new challenge has caused a lot of bad blood between people.
15.Have you watched any of the other seasons of The Challenge? If so what have been your favorite seasons?
Trishelle-Not really. I watch Katie and Mark Long and Diem and my real friends but I'm not an avid watcher. I have a long list o reality shows on my dvr lol.
16.Do you have a favorite mission you've done?
Trishelle-In the past I think flying planes and dog fighting on the Gauntlet. Once in a lifetime experience.
17.Besides playing poker, what do you like to do outside of the challenge?
Trishelle-I play on a co-ed softball and kickball league, I go to concerts/shows, festivals, dinners with friends, I love to cook, have game nights, go to Saints and LSU games, travel everywhere, wine tastings, and outdoors activities, about to start golf lessons hopefully! But poker is still my passion.
18.What does your family and
friends think of you coming back and competing on The Challenge?
Trishelle-Haha. They're excited. My family and friends don't really watch MTV and my boyfriend is Canadian so I'm not even sure he gets it haha. I just hope they don't all disown me if they do watch it
19.If you could team up with any three guys and three girls to be on a team with, who would they be and why?
Trishelle-Mark Long, Adam Larson (RR), and Frank from my season. They're amazing competitors and they're fun to be around and no drama or silly childishness
Katie Doyle, Nany, and Diem. All for the same reasons. Except Katie. She knows she's not an amazing competitor lol. (love u katie) but she's my best friend
20.Do you think you'll return to do another challenge?
Trishelle-100% I want to do one with more vets and friends. I had no friends on this challenge. It would be nice to have more on the next one.
21.In closing, how has the Real World and The Challenges changed your life? How has it shaped you as a person?
Trishelle-It has changed everything! I feel lucky for all the opportunities I have had. I've filmed with and met so many people and made some great friends and traveled the world. I wouldn't change a thing. I think the show has made me a more confident person in who I am. People watch you and judge you and they don't even know you. They're judging a character on a tv show. I learned that the only peoples opinions that matter to me are the people in my life that I love. True story.
