Challenge Corner Interview with Dusty
Cara Maria Sorbello - Fresh Meat 2
Cara Maria Sorbello - Fresh Meat 2
1.What made you want to audition for Fresh Meat?
Cara Maria-I auditioned for Real World originally. Fresh Meat is something you get put on when producers don't think you are cool enough for your own show but want to keep you around for a few heights over water plunges.
I submitted a picture/couple sentences of description of myself for real world because my college roomies only wanted to watch MTV. They paid more attention to random strangers on the Real World than they did to me. I had to change that! So Submit I DID!
2.Did you watch any of the earlier seasons of The Real World/Road Rules/The Challenge? If so,which ones were your favorite?
Cara Maria-I don't remember particular seasons but I remember personalities such as Coral, Katie, Ruthie, and Robin. I also remember this one challenge that I still can't believe ever went down..... they had to cross these janky planes high in the air from wing tip to wing tip in the middle of mexico or something. It was insane. Half the cast backed out. I'd sh*t my pants.
3.When you found out you were on the cast for Fresh Meat 2, what were your initial reactions?
Cara Maria-When the producer called and said I made it.... I literally just said.... "oh.... cool....." - I was in shock. I had no clue what I was in for. The producer goes "Aren't you excited???"- and I'm like... "yeah... I just... wow... " - I literally had no words.
4.Now you were the first one selected in the partner draft, how did that feel to be picked first and to have Darrell as a partner?
Cara Maria-It felt awesome. I never get picked for anything. I'm the bad luck bear. I was shocked to say the least.
5.Even though you were eliminated first on Fresh Meat 2, you were casted for Cutthroat, how did it feel to know you were going to get a another chance to compete?
Cara Maria-I was stoked to have another chance to prove myself. Basically... it was Do or Die. At least I couldn't possibly do any WORSE. haha.
6.Some people say you only stayed out of the Gulag because of Abram, what do you say to that?
Cara Maria-I went in the "Back up off me" elimination against Mandi. I put my dues in. Sarah never had to go in once though and she wasn't banging abram. Our team also only lost 4 out of the 9 challenges. So there were only 4 eliminations to have to vote people in for. I did my part. I did pretty damn well. And when I f*cked up... I happily went into the Gulag to prove myself worthy of stayin in the house.

8.Now after Cutthroat you participated on Rivals with Laurel as your partner. What started your rivalry and how did Rivals change that?
Cara Maria-We never really understood eachother. Now we are best friends.
9.One incident that you have been known for was when Wes poured pop on your head and Paula ridiculed you. Laurel the stood up to them. How did it feel to know that your partner had your back like that?
Cara Maria-Thats when me and laurel came together. We saw each other in a new way. I love her for that. Now I am learning to be strong enough that I don't need someone to stand up for me.... but it was nice to have her there at that moment. We have taught each other a lot. She's like a sister to me.
10.After Rivals you competed on Battle of the Exes, with Abram as your partner. How did your relationship start and how did Exes affect your relationship?
Cara Maria-We have been on and off for 2 years. Exes didn't effect much with us. We fight... we get back together. We can't seem to stay apart.
11.What is your current relationship with Abram?
Cara Maria-He's moving to Boston. I'd say we are together.
12.What is your favorite thing to do during the challenges when you are not competing?
Cara Maria-Ride my horse! I also DJ, Bartend, work out, Paint, Sew, Making Youtube Videos (Cara Maria's YouTube ) and my Dirty Pirate Dreads (Cara Maria's Pirate Dreads)
13.What has been your favorite challenge to compete on and why?[
Cara Maria-Rivals. I kicked a**. And It brought me close to Laurel. Gave me a new best friend
14.Do you have a particular moment you are proud of during your challenge career?
Cara Maria-I am most proud of when I made it to the end in Cut Throat and outlasted 2 of my strongest competitors. I went from being the most underestimated and first gone to the last one standing. It was amazing. It showed me that I could push through and really compete. A real under dog story!
15.What do your family and friends think of you competing on these challenges?
Cara Maria-They think it's cool.
16.In conclusion, how has the challenge shaped you as a person? How has it changed you?
Cara Maria-I was always the weirdo loser ugly duckling outcast last one picked and first one picked ON. I always kept to myself. I'm very awkward in social situations. I also never really competed in anything or did any sports type activities exept for riding my horse.
Now ...after the show....the things that made me "different" back in the day... and the things that people made fun of me for.... are the things that kids look up to me for... they are the things people say they admire most! Strange how that works out isn't it?
The challenges have taught me a whole lot. I've slowly learned to deal w big groups of people.....LIVING with them.... I've learned what I can physically and mentally put myself through. I've NEVER been one to do any crazy fear based activities... but man.... I'm growing immune to heights over water. I've also faced my biggest fear of getting blood drawn (they make you get a full medical check before every challenge.... and that was the biggest challenge EVER for me because I'd always managed to get out of it before).
I'm proud of myself. It's also opened a ton of new doors. I'm truly thankful for it. It's a once in a life time thing. I cant believe all the people who try out for it and that someone actually picked ME. I still can't believe it. I'm really really reallllllly thankful I've also learned I can help other younger kids who may be dealing with what I dealt with at their age. It hits home w me.
