Can you give me a small run down of the premise? Like what this is about?

Remembering the names are going to be impossible. If this show was in english, it would be so lit. The Genius surpasses Survivor and BB in terms of strategic gameplay easily. An American company needs to pick this up.

I love the Genius. It's an amazing show. Apparently the rights have been sold to different countries (including the Netherlands, yay), so I'm hoping it'll be a thing in other countries as well.
The premise of the game is actually fairly simple: There's two games every episode, a Main Match and a Death Match. In the main match, one or multiple people will win safety, and the biggest loser goes to the Death Match. The loser can bring one person to duel with in the Death Match (people with immunity obviously not included). The person that loses the Death Match goes home. There's also Garnets involved, which you can earn during the Main matches, that can help you in some of the Main Matches, and are also the prize money at the end. When it gets down to two, there's a final with several games, and the past contestants are allowed to give advantages to the person they support.
The thing that makes this show interesting, is that rather than having basic challenges (like a Big Brother), the games are amazing. You've got political games, strategy games, games that test your creative thinking, etc. Some of the main matches feel like they could be a working reality show entirely. And because of the games generally having some degree of cooperation/ a political aspect, alliances are a thing. I think the closest thing you can compare it to is Big Brother, but in Big Brother the challenges just feel like a tool to play the game, and here, it's much more intergrated into the game itself. Also, there's really a good amount of people that are active in the strategy of the game and making moves, and the blindsides are edited amazingly. They tend to blindside the audience as well, and then have a flashback explaining how this move went down.
For me, the subtitles aren't much of a problem (pretty much all American/English TV here is subtitled), but the first few episodes it can be tricky to tell some of the people apart.
