Shots of the ocean, beaches and forests of the Tongan islands are shown, along with close ups of the wildlife of the islands. Nate Probst's voice suddenly comes in.

Tonga...a series of almost two hundred islands in the South Pacific, with beautiful scenery...amazing wildlife...and magnificent but dangerous landscapes. The surrounding waters are filled with hundreds of fish, as well as one of the largest populations of dolphins, and even the great humpback whale. Within the islands are beautiful birds, as well as thousands of bats and lizards infesting the beaches and the forests...

The camera pans to four helicopters, each holding four new castaways.

It is these set of islands, that will be the backdrop for the most intense season of Survivor yet. With sixteen new castaways, and twists that will shake up the game like never before, this game is definitely going to get ugly. This is Survivor: Tonga - Survival of the Fittest.

The players are seen landing on a beach and walking out.

Thirty-nine days....sixteen people...ONE survivor.

The new players walk down the beach together towards where Nate Probst is standing. Once they are all at the mats with Nate, he begins:

Welcome, everyone, to the fifth season of Survivor. Before we get to anything, I'm sure you guys are all dying to know what the tribes will be, so let's go ahead and get that done.

Now before we get to you other eight, I'm going to throw the first twist at you. In the past, there are always the people that are targeted by their tribes for either being too weak at challenges, or being too strong and being a threat...well this season, we're going to change that dynamic up completely. Welcome to Survivor: Tonga - Survival of the Fittest.

The sixteen castaways all look at each other, very confused.

No longer will you have to rely on the strength of others to ensure your safety from tribal council...you're all on your own, no excuses, nobody to hide behind, and no more scapegoats. Now...

Here are your buffs.

Nate throws the remaining eight a bag, and they open it up to find eight more brown buffs.

Havili Tribe, please make room for your other eight tribemates.

"Oh my god," says Bryan as he and the others in his group walk over to the other eight on the mat.

"This is f**king nuts, man," says Briqsquad.

For the first time ever, there are no rival tribes...you will be one tribe, and every single week you will be fighting for your own safety and nobody else's.

Each week, there will be an Immunity Challenge like usual, but you will be competing as individuals, minus a couple challenges where you will be put into temporary tribes just for that challenge. Only some of you will win immunity, and you will be able to stay back at camp, while the losing members of the tribe will go to tribal council and vote off someone from your tribe. It is literally everybody for themselves this entire game, and the only way you can ensure that you're safe is by giving it your all in every challenge. I will leave you all with that for now. Here is a map to your camp.

Nate throws them a map in a cannister.

Head there and set up camp...it will certainly not be very roomy so build a big shelter. One more thing. There is a hidden immunity idol hidden back at camp. I will announce when the clues have been hidden within the threads. That's all I have for you guys...head back to camp, and I'll see you soon for your first immunity challenge.

The sixteen castaways grab their flag and head off the beach to begin their long trek to their campground.

Immunity Challenge #1
Sea Legs (Inspired by Survivor: Marquesas)

Come on in guys!

The sixteen castaways all walk in together to a beach where there are sixteen pyramid shaped structures floating out in the water, and Nate Probst is standing at the edge of the beach by a podium.

Welcome, Havili Tribe, to your first immunity challenge. For today's challenge, you all will be standing on those pyramid shaped platforms, and will have to balance there until specific intervals where you will have to move up the platform, making it harder for you to balance. The first TEN members of the tribe to fall off will go to tribal council and vote out the first person in this game. The last six people standing will get to head back to camp and relax for the rest of the night. Let's get started, shall we.

In actuality, you guys will be playing a simple balancing game called "Balance Balls" and here is how this challenge will work:

This challenge is simple. Play this game that I have provided the link for and try to balance the balls as long as possible on the seesaw. When you have a score that you are satisfied with, take a screenshot without cropping out or editing anything and send me the screenshot of your score. The top six scorers will be safe from tribal council, and the rest of you will go to tribal. Good luck.

Immunity Challenge #1 Results
Sea Legs (Inspired by Survivor: Marquesas)

The sixteen players all get on their platforms and get situated as Nate counts down.

Survivors ready? 3....2....1...hands off, we have started.

The castaways all remain standing calmly except for Peter who is wobbling around a lot.

Right out of the gate, Peter is having troubles...remember, the bottom ten players will be heading to tribal council, with a chance of being the first to go. I'm sure you all can agree that you do not want to be that guy....or girl, excuse me, Bri.

Bri nods as Peter wobbles even more and flops off his platform into the water.

And just like that, Peter will be the first person heading to tribal council tonight. Now Major and Trenton are starting to shake...

Trenton quickly falls off after Peter, only moments into the challenge, while Major attempts to balance longer but falls off shortly after.

We now have a bottom three...Major and Trenton will be joining Peter at tribal. Seven more spots, thirteen players still competing for safety...

Ten minutes pass, and everyone still remains on their platforms firmly.

Let's make it a little harder for you all, and I'm gonna have you all move up to the next level of your platforms. I'll give you a minute to get situated and we will start back up.

The thirteen remaining castaways get balanced on the second to the top ridges and begin balancing again.

This will make it harder for you all to balance for sure...and now the wind is making it a little harder for some of you. Bryan is beginning to struggle. Nacho and Cory are also beginning to wobble.

Bryan begins to lean different directions and tries to hold on to the middle but eventually flips off the platform.

Bryan is out of the challenge! Nacho has regained his balance. Cory is still struggling a bit, and now Kennyfan is beginning to teeter.

Kennyfan attempts to gain his balance back, but in an instant falls off backwards into the water.

Kennyfan is out! We now have half our tribal council participants...Kennyfan, Bryan, Trenton, Major and Peter. Who will join them...

Cory suddenly falls off into the water as Nate is speaking.

...and Cory is out! Ten are left standing....four more spots at tribal, and it is time to move to the top spot. Now everyone needs to balance on the very top of the triangle, no hands. I'll give you a minute to get settled and we'll start back up.

As everyone begins to get situated on their platforms, Nacho continues to struggle standing and falls to the left and slides down his platform into the water.

A hard fall by Nacho and he will be the seventh member of tonight's tribal! Nine left. We will now begin the final stage. From here on out it is your job to balance where you are. Next three to fall will be out.

Everyone starts to struggle on the platform except for James who is standing perfectly still.

James is not budging, even with that wind blowing...Bri almost falls, but catches herself and is still up there.

A big gust of wind comes through and Hayden and Vova begin to struggle, and Hayden falls off.

Hayden is out! Next two to fall are heading straight to tribal!

Vova continues to try and stand still but falls off shortly after.

Vova is the ninth castaway going to tribal! One more spot...who wants it the least?

Bri, Cloudy and Azri all start to struggle standing firmly as wind comes through harder than ever.

And Cloudy falls and will be the last player going to tribal!

Cloudy swats at the water as he comes back up, while the last six standing all cheer for themselves as they jump off.

Everyone meets back up on the beach.

Congratulations to James, Briqsquad, Tsky, Gordon, Azri and Bri. You six are safe from tribal council tonight and can go back to camp and relax. The other ten of you, I can't say the same. I will see you tonight at tribal council where the first person in this game will be voted out. Everyone head back to camp.

The sixteen members of Havili grab their stuff and head away from the beach towards their camp.

I hate to be anticlimactic about the next challenge but I want to get this done quick so we can get started. This challenge will be done in temporary tribes of five. The top three performers from last challenge will be the tribe leaders. James will pick first, then Briq, then Tom. Then the person Tom picked will pick first, then briq's and then James'. This snake draft will continue until everyone is picked. If more than two hours passes before someone picks, then the tribe leader can pick again. If this goes longer than a day, then I will randomize whoever is left. The challenge will be puzzles. One is a jigsaw puzzle that two people will be doing and one is a strategy puzzle that the other three will do.

So James can go ahead and pick his first tribemate.
