Survivor: Chile - Inferno Island - The Game

The show opens with scenes of an active volcano, fire bursting and lava flowing down dark hills of rubble. Waves crash against tall cliffs as great whales and dolphins are shown leaping out of the waters as a great Andean condor flies overhead and caws.

This is Chile, a narrow but widespread country that covers nearly the entire western coast of South America. Rich in history, including the rule of the ancient Incan empire, and some of the greatest volcanic activity in the world.

The camera cuts to a boat with fifteen new castaways speeding through the water towards a long beach surrounded by towering rocky cliffs.

It is here that fifteen new castaways will embark on a journey of a lifetime. They will be put to the test, having to battle the elements, and each other for over a month. But with new twist shaking up what the meaning of being voted out really is, and the addition of three veterans of the game, how will the castaways adapt?

The boat lands on the beach, and the fifteen new players step off the boat and walk up the beach together and the camera pans to Nate standing on the beach with harsh winds blowing against him.

Thirty-nine days, eighteen people, ONE survivor!

The fifteen new castaways walk up the beach and break up into three groups, one group of five on the red mat, five on the black mat, and five on the yellow mat.

How ya doing everybody?

The new castaways nod suspiciously but excitedly.

I'm sure you're all wondering why there's only fifteen of you right now...we'll end the guesses now. After eight seasons, there have been many players who have felt like they didn't rise to their potential. Everybody always wishes they had a second chance, and this season is all about second chances...come on in guys!

Three more castaways walk onto the beach towards Nate.

Joey (Joe (hey) ), the fourth person voted out of our most recent season, Survivor: Malaysia...

Eaoltis (eaoltis ), the seventh person voted out of Survivor: Japan - Fans vs. Favorites, a season that happened nearly two and a half years ago...

and PG (PG ), the eighth person voted out Survivor: Japan.

Joey, you will join the five on the red mat. Eaoltis, join the black mat, and PG, yellow.

The three returnees join their designated groups, making each group six people. Nate pulls out a bag of buffs and throws the first group six red buffs.

Joey (Joe (hey) ), Juderay (coolertalk ), Ashley (ashleyjensen ), Christian (xtian ), Kubson (kubson ) and Alex (digwoman )...you will be the Apiao Tribe wearing RED.

Nate pulls out six yellow buffs and throws them to the second group.

PG (PG ), Josh (Josh ), Duncan (Dankan ), Harmony (harmonyking1185 ), David (epicurus ) and Brittany (Brittany )...you will be the Quellon Tribe wearing YELLOW.

Nate pulls out the six remaining black buffs and throws them to the last group.

Eaoltis (eaoltis ), David (DScott ), Ty (Ty ), Linus (radfiddler ), Derek (ineedfreedom ) and DER (robamber ) ...you will be the Yaldad Tribe wearing black.

Now there's one more twist, and I think this is a good time to let you all know the title of this season...welcome to Survivor: Chile - Inferno Island.

The players clap and cheer.

As I said before, this is a season about second chances, and that is not just regarding our three returning players seeking redemption, but a twist that will change what it means to be voted out like never before. Up until a certain period in the game, when you are voted out, you are not out of the game. Instead, you will go to Inferno Island where you will live in isolation from the rest of your fellow castaways, including those who were voted out before or after you because they will be in a separate part of Inferno Island. As you all know, in this game fire represents your life, and that will be no different on Inferno Island. In fact, your only job while on Inferno Island will be to keep your fire going. If your fire goes out, you will be removed from the game for good. At a certain point in the game, the castaways remaining on Inferno Island will battle in a redemption challenge where ONE castaway will get to return into the game.

The players nod and look deep in thought.

Hidden immunity idols are in play. One will be hidden at each camp. Here are your maps to your camps...

I WILL NOW START CREATING TRIBE THREADS, CONFESSIONALS AND PUTTING YOU INTO YOUR TRIBE GROUPS. THE CHALLENGE WILL BE POSTED TONIGHT AT 7 PM SITE TIME (EST.) AND WILL LAST 24 HOURS, HOWEVER IT'S BEST IF YOU ARE HERE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FROM WHEN IT STARTS.

The three newly formed tribes walk into the challenge area, each with their tribe flags, and stand on their designated mats.

Ready to get to your first immunity challenge?

The players nod together as Nate pulls out an idol.

This is the immunity idol and is what you covet as a tribe to avoid tribal council.

Nate pulls it apart into two pieces.

For today's challenge, there are four torches out in the water for each tribe. As a tribe, you will float out on the water on your raft and light each torch with a torch you will be given on the beach. The first tribe to light all four torches and then the final wooden tower back at the beach will win immunity and reward. The second tribe to finish will win immunity as well.

The last place tribe will go to tribal council tonight where someone will have the distinction of being the first person voted out and headed to Inferno Island. Not a position anyone wants to be in.

This challenge will be done semi-LIVE. In this thread, your tribe must finish a string of posts as quickly as possible within a 24 hour time frame.

To start, you must post *Paddles* TEN times. You can only type it once per post, and you must wait until at least two other people from your tribe has posted *Paddles* before you can post it again. Once your tribe has posted *Paddles* 10 times, one player (this can be anyone, but if it's the last person to post *paddles* then they must light the torch in a separate post) will post *Lights Torch #1*

Once someone has posted *Lights Torch #1* you will repeat the process FOUR more times (this also restarts the order so the last person to post paddles in the previous round can start the next round as well if they want), each time changing the number (Torch #2, Torch #3, etc.). No single person is allowed to post *Lights Torch #__* more than once. This means 5/6 members must be able to post the torch lighting to complete this.

Once the five torches have been lit, anyone from that tribe can post *Takes Immunity*. Once that is posted, if everything was posted correctly, you will win immunity. If two tribes haven't completed the challenge within 24 hours, the two tribes furthest along will win immunity.

collectively. So like for example...

Joey: *Paddles*
Christian: *Paddles*
Ashley: *Paddles*

and then you could go again, and once you guys get to posting it ten times, someone can light the first torch. Then you restart for the second torch and a different person has to light the next torch and so on. Anyone can post *Paddles* as much as they want, as long as they wait for two people to post in between each time.

Whichever team finishes first. Time between start and finish doesn't matter.

Tribal Council will be posted later tonight with a 24 hour deadline for the votes. Reward will also be posted in the Quellón Tribe Campground thread, which may contain a clue to the hidden idol. Idol details will also be posted later tonight.
