K I've seen all the major nominees, so here's my ranking of all of them and who I think will/should win.
Best Picture
Mad Max: Fury Road (SHOULD WIN)
The Revenant (WILL WIN)
Brooklyn
Room
The Big Short
Bridge of Spies
The Martian
Spotlight
I think Spotlight and The Martian are very overrated. They're good movies, but nothing spectacular tbh. Mad Max was an amazing work of art and I could watch it every day and not get sick of it. I really hope it wins, but it's doubtful. I think The Revenant will win, and could also see Brooklyn possibly being a surprise win.
Actor in a Leading Role
Leonardo Dicaprio (SHOULD WIN) (WILL WIN)
Paul Dano (not nominated)
Bryan Cranston
Michael Fassbender
Eddie Redmayne
Matt Damon
Only nomination that confuses me is Matt Damon. Love the guy, but his performance wasn't oscar worthy. Paul Dano, however, was robbed so hard.
Actress in a Leading Role
Brie Larson (SHOULD WIN) (WILL WIN)
Cate Blanchett
Charlotte Rampling
Saoirse Ronan
Jennifer Lawrence
This is probably the toughest competition in a category imo. All five women did amazing work and it was hard to rank them because I think they all deserve the award, but Brie is bae and kicked a**.
Actor in a Supporting Role
Tom Hardy (SHOULD WIN)
Walton Groggins (not nominated)
Christian Bale
Mark Rylance
Jacob Tremblay (not nominated)
Sylvester Stallone (WILL WIN)
Mark Ruffalo
I honestly can't really tell who I think will win from this group, but Tom Hardy definitely did the best out of the nominees in my opinion. Christian Bale was great as usual though and I'd like to see him win. Walton Groggins was robbed as well and I'm salty he's not nominated still. Mark Ruffalo has no business being on this list. Like him, but lol.
Actress in a Supporting Role
Jennifer Jason Leigh (SHOULD WIN)
Rooney Mara
Kate Winslet (WILL WIN)
Alicia Vikander
Rachel McAdams
Rachel McAdams also has no business being on this list, like her castmate Mark. JJL was awesome in Hateful 8 and I really hope she gets the win, but wouldn't be sad if any of the other three women won.
Best Director
Alejandro G. Inarritu (WILL WIN)
Quentin Tarantino (not nominated) (SHOULD WIN)
George Miller
Adam McKay
Tom McCarthy
Lenny Abrahamsson
I chose Quentin as should win solely because he's been robbed so many f*cking times and it's a disgrace he hasn't won Best Director yet. But out of the nominees, Alejandro definitely did a fantastic job and that movie did not look easy to run in the slightest so props to this guy. I wouldn't be sad if George Miller won though.
Production Design
Mad Max: Fury Road (SHOULD WIN)
The Revenant (WILL WIN)
Bridge of Spies
The Martian
Mad Max hands down deserves this. The Revenant was beautiful and I know some of it was CGI but for the most part I feel like production design shouldn't be credited for much of the beauty. It should be the Cinematographers and the Location Scouters that get credit.
