The show opens to scenes of the shores, hills, mountains and forests of Malaysia, coupled with close up shots of elephants, wild cats, bears and crocodiles.
It’s our eighth season of Survivor, and we are back in Southeast Asia, across the Gulf of Thailand to the beautiful lands of Malaysia, where sixteen new castaways-
The camera pans to a speed-boat zooming across the ocean towards shore, full of eight players in magenta colored buffs.
-will face the elements and each other in order to survive to the end, where one person will take the title of Sole Survivor. The Miri tribe, which will be wearing magenta, consists of…
Alad (@aladmaho )...
Daquan (daquanwizard )...
Don (Donald )...
Javi (iraheto )...
Jackson (challengesurvivorb )...
Jim (cousinjim)
Jonas (Helen of Troy )...
Lan (Lan )...
and Max (mace20 )
One by one, the camera shows each member as they are riding in their speed-boat to shore.
Their opponents have remained a secret, however.
The camera shows another boat full of eight players wearing orange buffs.
For the first time ever, a tribe of castaways alien to Entertaining Reality but skilled in Survivor will invade our shores, and battle members of the site for the title of Sole Survivor.
These eight players have all played in Tengaged group games, a site notorious for strong-headed members, and savage gameplay.
In a season with players used to fast-paced and aggressive gameplay taking on players who come from a site known for its stress on loyalty and friendliness, who will adapt to who, and how will the game be changed? One thing is for sure, the line in the sand will be thicker than ever.
This is Survivor: Malaysia - Natives vs. Invaders!
The camera pans to Stan hanging from a helicopter flying towards the beach.
Thirty-nine days, sixteen people, ONE survivor!
The Miri tribe lands on the beach and the castaways hop out of their boat, and walk up the beach towards Stan who is waiting for them near two mats, one orange and one magenta. The Miri tribe stands together on the magenta colored mat.
Hey guys. I’m sure you’re wondering who you will be competing against, so let’s bring them in.
A second speed-boat rounds the corner of the beach and lands, with eight castaways jump out and walk up the beach.
Andrew (dallasandrew )...
Anthony (bones0227)
Gregory (dryicebros )...
Brandan (maladus1 )...
Bob (islandsurvivor )...
Jeremy (@wuau1015 )...
Joey (Joe (hey) )...
Mel (M)...
and Setsu (Setsu-Maria Ghomes )
The eight with the magenta colored buffs, you will be called the Miri tribe.
The eight with the orange buffs will be the Kalang tribe.
Miri, I’m sure you’re wondering why Kalang was giving such an introduction. Well, usually when we cast for this game, we choose people who have joined the site already, but this year, we’ve brought eight people who have already racked up experience on their site, Tengaged. They may have the game experience, but you guys know the site. You come from different places, but bottom line is, you’re all new to this. Welcome everybody, to Survivor: Malaysia - Natives vs. Invaders.
Immunity idols are in play, however something has changed. This time, there will be TWO hidden immunity idols at EACH camp…
The castaways’ eyes get big as they talk to each other and get excited.
...but only one is a legitimate idol. In past seasons, you could tell specific people you had an idol, you could keep it secret from everyone, or you could use it to threaten people to not write your name down. Now, this will become harder because only one of the two idols will be real, while the other is useless. The only way you can know for sure if you have found the real one, is by asking the host, in front of everyone, to check the validity of it during a tribal council.
It is up to you to decide if you wish to ask, or if you want to take your chances.
In addition, your first immunity challenge starts now.
Stan throws each tribe a map.
Here are maps to your camp. The first tribe to make it to their camp and shoot a flare into the air will win immunity and be safe from tribal council where one of you will get the distinction of being the first person voted out of this game. This trek is ten miles, and everyone must get there before the flare can be shot. There’s one flare, so don’t try using it for fire. That, you will have to figure out on your own.
In addition, if you are the first tribe to shoot your flare, we will fly over your camp and drop a cargo box containing the immunity idol, and as a reward, fire-making tools. A huge advantage in this game.
On my go, we will start the challenge.
Once the challenge starts, each member of the tribe will be sent a link to a jigsaw puzzle (flash is required). Each puzzle will consist of five letters. As a tribe, each of you will have to complete your own puzzle, collect the letters in it, and then combine the 40 letters to solve this phrase:
[WILL BE GIVEN WHEN THE CHALLENGE COMMENCES TOMORROW]
Some of the letters have already been placed in the blanks, and you will be finding the remaining 40 letters that are left blank. Once your tribe figures out the phrase, post it in your campground thread. If you are the first tribe to post it, I will give you the idol and reward, and if you aren’t then I will tell you that you have lost.
Puzzle links will be sent out tomorrow so you all can get acquainted with your tribe mates. Are there any questions?
