Anyone actually still watch this show??? The next season is going to put people together that don't know each other. I find it interesting that they won't have known pairs. I've been seeing the commercials for the new season and I'm excited by the fact that they don't know each other. I tried to watch the last couple of seasons but one season, the players were taking selfies every 18 seconds and another season, it was people who got famous on YouTube and I had no idea who any of them were but they got on my nerves quickly so I gave up. I liked the show the way it used to be but when they kept inviting the same people on time after time, it got boring. I like Flight Time and Big Easy but they're already rich and famous so why keep bringing them back? I like to see "real everyday people" go on an adventure of a lifetime and have a chance to win a life-changing amount of money. Hopefully none of the people on this season are "Internet famous" or returning players but I guess I'll find out on the 1st episode. I haven't seen the past few seasons either for that exact reason!

New season starts tonight at 10 PM (EST). I'll give it a look-see but judging by the last couple of seasons, I admit I don't have high hopes for this one. I kind of like the idea that the contestants don't know each other but then again, they might just be doing this to ensure lots of screaming and melodrama with all of the teams. In a way, it seems a little scripted to me. I could very well be wrong to be so cynical and skeptical (and I really hope I am) but I loved this show for so long and they managed to ruin it for me with the way they chose the casts. I recently read that a couple of shows I used to watch years ago (Cash Cab and Trading Spaces) are going to be redone and while I'm sure they won't be nearly as fun or charming as the originals, it gives me some hope that shows like Amazing Race may jump on the nostalgia bandwagon and go back to what made this show so great to watch in its glory days. In the meantime, I'll have my fingers crossed for tonight.

Just watched the premiere and made it all the way through, which is frankly more than I was expecting. I immediately took a shine to the one whose partner, Becca, called "Urkel". His name escapes me at the moment and I can actually only remember the names Olive, London, and Logan (mainly because the last 2 are a team and call themselves "LoLo"). I'm looking forward to the next episode and will take it one week at a time but so far so good.

I don't know if anyone watched the April 20th episodes (2 in a row) but they were really good and felt like the Amazing Race of years gone by. Zanzibar was very exotic-looking and Norway was gorgeous. And the Roadblock they did with that giant wooden pallet structure was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Once those episodes are OnDemand, I'm going to have to rewatch them. Give them a look-see if you haven't already done it.
