You're gonna hate me, but I could never get into Kings of Leon. I love the Killers' and Coldplay's early albums. I have been listening to balld of Michael Valentine and all these things that I've done. I like Alex Turner's piledriver waltz too. Nooooo Jhon you have failed me

ok i like this thread. but the term "indie" bothers me, since i don't actually ever know which bands are actually independent .. most seem to be signed to some record label...sometimes a major one. isn't beyonce indie .. yet mainstream? anyway... i suppose this thread contains most of my listening tastes.
Nate, i'm going through your album list and we have a few similarities. i'll admit that my collection is quite small at the moment, but maybe someday i'll make my list. but um, some of my favorites include The Temper Trap, Two Door Cinema Club, Keane, um...Capital Cities, Morning Parade, Delphic, Geographer, Travis, Ratatat, and then a few others but I am typically pretty picky and sometimes I'll preview an album and just get a few songs rather than the whole thing. Or it takes me a while to get into something. Like, I randomly picked up "The Temper Trap" not really knowing what I was getting into. I just picked it up and bought it. I listened to it in the car on my hour and a half ride home ... i liked a few tracks, but then i popped it in a few more times for my long car rides into town, and i ended up really liking it. i kinda am waiting for them to come out with new stuff omg its been for f*cking ever.
i dunno i need some new stuff.

Yeah I find a lot of groups by looking at the lists of albums that are recommended based on other albums I've already looked at, and that's how I found groups like Temper Trap, Deep Sea Arcade, Vaccines, etc. that I ended up really loving.

It's ok. The fact that you can't get into it means you're coming to terms with the fact that they are overrated and dumb.

I forgive you. But your persistence is admirable. I actually haven't listened so I cant really judge. Heh.

Sufjan Steven's newest album is pure bliss.
Also Courtney Barnett's "Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit" is another fantastic album that I recommend to anyone.
