I love Hali, but I always have.
Sad to see Malcolm go, but that tribal was awesome.

I think the fact Malcolm was telling JT he was on board with voting Sandra doesn't a) mean he actually was planning on voting out Sandra if they went to a regular TC, and certainly doesn't mean that he should b) Side with JT into a minority position going forward just to get someone out that's not against him in the game.
If you listen to Malc's interviews, the dynamics on Nuku were a lot more complex than Mana vs JT. Malcolm hated Michaela, Aubry and Sandra hate each other, and Varner made himself a target by completely blowing the challenge. Malcolm was bromancing JT because he was told to by the rest to keep JT with them for the future.
Sophie said something similar about how Malcolm and JT should have just openly sided with Mana to target Sandra, and I don't think that makes any sense for Malcolm. Yeah it keeps him safe that tribal (which he already assumed he was based on JT's info and their tribe having the numbers), but it cripples his game going forward. The move might have made sense if he managed to pull in Aubry so they'd have a majority on their tribe, but even then they just keep adding to Old-Nuku's numbers advantage.
