Alright, so we can finally get this on the road, watch it by tonight, and post your thoughts. We can just go an episode a day for now, because if we stay consistent, we'll finish before BB17.

My Episode 1 Notes: - I love the opening of this season, both the first scene and the theme song. I miss when they would go through a small village in the area to start, like in this, Borneo and PI. - LMFAO, at first, the Kenyan guy with the gun has no chill and then....have a nice day! Dude knows that area is WAY too dangerous, he just wanted to gtfo. - The hike to camp, another part of classic Survivor that I wish they would do again, but with all beach locations now, it's pretty much pointless. - Smdh, can't believe that dumped all that water. - Frank's first confessional and the scene around it is excellent. - This is the best worst location in Survivor history. Stuck in the middle of nowhere on some dying grass, surrounded by a bunch of dangerous animals, but at the same time, that's what makes it great. There hasn't been anything like it and there won't be anything like it at this rate. - The theme song has been played in full (I think) twice before the first commercial. What show am I watching!?!? - Not only do they leave them in the most dangerous location possible, but then all they give is a crappy grass fence with a ton of thorns as "protection". Today, there would probably be a ready-made shelter and fence that you could open and close just like you're at home. - Day 1 and things are already dividing. Now this is the Survivor I know. - At least you didn't dump your water Samburu! - Fire needed by Night One, Worlds Apart cast would've died. - "Get fire or die": Nobody has fire on Night One and they all live. I am very disappointed. - Drama so far in this episode: Frank is commanding. Clarence ate two cherries. THE INTENSITY. - Love this opening challenge, no puzzle seems so weird though lol, as does no redundant Probst commentary. Challenge feels more epic without him talking and just the soundtrack (which is great). - Tribal council the day after immunity. WHA? ?? - Diane is OUT and production gives 0 f*cks lol. She would've already been medevaced at this point if it was now. - Tom, damn, chiiiiil lol. Clarence did nothing wrong IMO, dude was trying to help Diane, who as I said earlier was pretty much dying. They should not be so mad, even if Diane didn't ask for it, she needed it. - Clarence's vote confessional is one of the best ever. - Solid premiere, but this season has not even started yet from what I remember. Waiting for things to get real.

I agree with a lot of that Outlast, my notes: - Ok, I LOVED the start of this and the old school way they introduced everyone by mentioning their name, age, and occupation and then the hike to their camp. They're little things, but I love it.
- The location is so f*cking cool, easily my favorite to date with all the animals and the scenery. It almost felt like an additional 11th castaway lol.
- Ok so Samburu >>>>>> Boran, far more interesting and with more dynamic relationships and personalities. I did really like Clarence though and felt the whole food situation was taken way too far and Tom was kind of awful there.
- I loved how overbearing Frank was in everything he did and the stark contrast with someone like Lindsey who's "lol i got y period guys!!" on day 1. Also, can we discuss Linda and her disgust at how people were disrespecting Africa by talking about tampons and all that stuff? Haha she was a gem.
- Diane was a solid first boot, liked how she took the reins over and tried to lead the tribe to the camp, but kinda sucked at it and then her subsequent challenge performance and relationship with Clarence.
- Challenge was simple, but still brutal and intense, liked it.
- Ethan, Jessie, both Kims, and Teresa didn't do too much, but were positive for their screen time and came off really well so I liked that.
- Didn't form any strong opinions on Lex and Kelly which was surprising, given their fanbases.
- LOVED Clarence's voting confessional, so uberly dramatic <3
- Good premiere, cannot wait to watch episode 2!

Completely agree Jhon, and yeah, it was a bit surprising to me how boring/unseen Boran was, but they saved them until after the challenge pretty much . What I liked is that all the people that will end up doing well were pretty much in the background, nowadays the stars of a season are shoved down your throat from pretty much Day 1.

-I didnt realize that Tocantins opening scene is very similar to Africas opening scene.
-Dumping out water was sooo dumb like I dont care how heavy it is.
- Diane throwing clarence under the bus lmaooooooooo. Technically its good strategy on her part b/c if she thought the tribe saw her weak she spun the attention on clarence. Edit: Nvm she was voted out lol
I also think we should have separate viewing thread or something so we dont have to put up spoilers b/c I dont know how to do that.

So I watched the first two episodes and half of the third and some comments:
The old seasons make me miss the incorporation of the ovation so much and this season is a perfect example.
I love how they can see f*cking lions and sh*t right outside their camp. Like how cool would that be to say you saw all this sh*t and won a million dollars at the end.
The winner is getting a huge winners edit already which is funny considering they haven't really done anything exciting yet. They are literally only getting confessional time because they win later on which makes me laugh.
Big Tom, T-Bird and Lex are already slaying life with their overall awesomeness, and Clarence is lowkey and unknowingly slaying.
Both tribes have already had some great drama and I'm already enjoying this season much more than I think I did the first time idk why.

Clarence, Linda, and Frank are such amazing and underrated Survivor Africa characters. I've always wanted to play a forum game as "Mother Clarinda" aka a hybrid between Mother Africa Linda Spencer and Clarence the Cherry Popper Black.

Carl: What branch of service were you in?
Frank: I was in the American Branch. It's called Freedom
Frank has just become my favorite Survivor of all time and I'm not even 20 minutes into the first episode.
